Excel

Excel was a crossover band with several strong ties to Suicidal Tendencies -- same hometown, Excel members playing in ST side projects, and Excel's debut album being released on Suicidal Records back in 1987. Excel's thrashy crossover metal style was arguably a tad more metallic than ST was at the time, but the two bands did sound somewhat similar, and Excel did enjoy moderate success in their day. They first broke up in 1998, reformed in 2012, and have existed in various forms since, with a renewed vigor and new lineup in 2024.
