Exhumed

Formed in 1991 by the duo of Matt Harvey and Col Jones, Exhumed became of those cult underground death metal bands, never destined for superstardom but content to do their thing, which mostly consisted of out-goring their competition. They debuted in 1993 with an EP, and in the years to follow released a slew of demos and splits (much of which is captured in the Platters Of Splatter compilation), with varying lineups, until they finally signed to Relapse Records, where they released three full-length albums. As if the song titles weren't enough of a clue as to what their style was, Exhumed played grind-inspired death metal, drifting towards more traditional death metal on their later material.
