F.K.U.

F.K.U. (apparently short for Freddy Krueger's Underwear (!)) brings together a quartet of Swedes who collectively have quite a metal pedigree. That pedigree includes such diverse bands as Scarve, Mayadome, Midas Touch, and Andromeda, but in fact these guys sound little like any of those bands -- nope, this is a just-for-fun retro thrash/crossover romp, with Exodus being a prime soundalike due to the strongly Zetro Sousa-inspired vocals (along with some death growls too), and the songs often racing at breakneck speed and never overstaying their welcome. Lyrically, well, the song titles clearly show these guys are not to be taken seriously whatsoever (as if the band name wasn't enough of a clue). While all in good fun, the riffs are strong and the band is pretty tight, and as everyone knows, retro thrash is all the rage in the new millennium, so these guys fit the bill just fine.
