Gigan

Gigan originally hailed from death metal's original hotbed of Tampa, Florida, and while death metal is the style here, this is not a Morbid Angel clone. Like their album and song titles, Gigan's music is a lot to take in -- it's dense, cacophonous, seemingly unstructured at times, but technical to the extreme. The band is at full throttle pretty much all the time, so there's not much room to breathe and this can be a bit exhausting. But there's no denying the musicality here, and these guys rank favorably with the best in progressive/technical death metal.
