Nemesis

Nemesis was the first version of the band later known as Candlemass, following the name change (for legal reasons) and several shifts in lineup, with only founder Leif Edling eventually remaining with Candlemass. On The Day Of Retribution the doom elements later seen in Candlemass are present (indeed, the Candlemass song "Incarnation Of Evil" was originally recorded here, under the title "Black Messiah"), though in general the EP has an underdeveloped feel. Subsequent re-releases of the EP featured some early Candlemass demo recordings.
