What a great band name.
This French group formed in 1997, survived the suicide of
one of its core members in 1999, and have prospered since
signing to
Season Of Mist
Records in 2003.
Their third album (
The Water Fields, released in 2007)
is an excellent slice of melancholic, somber, sem-gothic
melodic death metal, somewhat like a cross between
and the more recent
releases.
The vocals feature a clean, mournful croon, punctuated by
death growls, the two styles intermingling quite well, while
the lyrics are clearly of an introspective, somber nature.
This is a diverse, mature album, one of the better albums
in this style in quite some time.
