Rosetta

Add Philadelphia's Rosetta to the list of bands expanding the boundaries of atmospheric post-hardcore. Fortunately this genre, though growing, is still rather select, with the bands developing their own niche rather than just following the leaders. So, while the comparisons to the veterans such as Isis and Neurosis are apt, Rosetta do put their own spin on the proceedings, being slightly more spacey at times (in keeping with the lyrical theme). The recording of The Galilean Satellites has an interesting quirk -- the ten tracks, spread out over two CDs, have the same time order (the first track on CD one is just as long as the first track on CD two, same for the remaining tracks). Meaning that one could, theoretically, play both CDs at the same time, creating a whole new listening experience. And, naturally, this was not done by accident, as the songs were recorded with this in mind. Of course, not everyone has access to equipment to try this
