Veni Domine
Veni Domine dates back to 1987, the nucleus of the band formed
The band debuted in 1992 with
Fall Babylon Fall, then hooked
up with Thunderload Records (run by the guys in
Heavy Load)
for two more albums in 1994 and 1998.
Work commenced on a fourth album, but due to various problems
with their record label, combined with an extended illness to
finally seeing the light of day in 2004.
A quick listen to their early work finds the band combining doom
and prog metal, roughly in the same ballpark as prime
Solitude Aeturnus, with
excellent vocals that resembled
Queensryche's
Geoff Tate,
and lyrics of a Christian nature, though not preachy.
They disbanded in September 2014, shortly after releasing their
final album,
Light.
