White Spirit
White Spirit was one of a handful of NWOBHM bands
who were part of the early
Neat
records family
that managed major label releases due to Neat's
short-lived affiliation with MCA Records.
1980's
White Spirit
is a decidedly keyboard-driven NWOBHM record, owing more to
Deep Purple
than the heavier
Iron Maiden
style of most British bands of the time.
The band is probably best remembered for being the
former band of
Iron Maiden
guitarist Janick Gers.
A second album,
21 Grams, was released in 2012, though
almost assuredly it was
recorded much earlier, as the band was reportedly broken up
in the early 80's.
Finally, a couple of members decided to re-record some
session tracks that
were unearthed, roping in several guests in the process.
That release was 2022's
Right Or Wrong, and since then a new lineup
has emerged.
