Wolfheart

Wolfheart was founded in 2013 by Tuomas Saukkonen, who'd already had several bands and/or projects to his name, almost all in the gothic/melancholic/doom field. And like several of his past ventures, this started out as a true solo project, Saukkonen performing almost all of the instruments on the debut before recruiting a proper band for the 2015 followup, Shadow World. Compared to his past, Wolfheart is a more aggressive, more in the melodic death metal realm, though still with a somber edge that has characterized Saukkonen's style.

Recent album: Draconian Darkness, released on September 6, 2024.
