Xysma

Though they never were as famous as their fellow Finnish bands that succeeded them, Xysma is highly regarded as a cult metal band, and one that was highly influential on the Finnish rock/metal scene. The band is remarkable for constantly changing styles throughout its career, moving from grindcore (the Swarming Of The Maggots 1989 demo, still regarded as a cult classic) released in 1993), to retro/semi-stoner rock (Deluxe and Lotto) steady lineup, a quintet of guys simply not willing to stay in one place for very long. Eventually tensions between the members forced the group to disband in 1998, leaving behind an odd but enduring legacy.
