The third BNR Metal Pages tournament took place in 2012.
Originally I was again going for 64 entrants, but the more I tried
to narrow the list down, the harder it was to stop at 64.
128 seemed too many (I didn't want the tournament to go on too long)
so I compromised, setting aside what I informally thought 32 of the best
were, and then choosing 64 for more, for a total of 96. Those 64
were paired off in the first round, and the winners were then paired
off with the aforementioned 32 favorites, and the tournament then
proceeded as before, working down to a single winner.
As with the last tournament, there were no seedings, and all matches
were created randomly and not announced in advance.
