Archspire
Extreme technical death metal seems to be a contest at times --
who can play it faster, more intricately, more, well, just MORE.
Archspire jumped into the fray in 20211 with their debut album,
and with each successive release seem intent on upping the ante.
2021's
Bleed The Future is a tech death wet dream --
impossibly fast musicianship (even the rapid-fire vocal delivery
astounds) with the intent of jamming as much into each
second of each song as possible
(although, to be fair, there are welcomed scattered bits
of calm amidst the chaos).
It's all quite impressive and can leave the listener
breathless.
The age-old argument is that such bands foresake writing
memorable songs, and that could apply here as well, though one
suspects neither the artists nor the listeners are focusing
on individual tracks.
