Artch
Another Return's brand of classy, accessible power metal created
a buzz when it was released in 1988, and big things were predicted for
the Norwegian band with the Icelandic vocalist.
But three years elapsed before the followup came out, and it lacked
much of what made the debut a fine album, and the band broke up
shortly thereafter.
Perhaps a victim of the numbers game, as ultimately Artch failed
to really put a stamp of originality on their music.
They released a DVD and have sporadically played live (at least
as late as 2008) but are probably done now.
The name of the band was actually an acronym for one of their
songs, "Another Return To Church Hill".
A bit of trivia: the aforementioned Icelandic vocalist,
Eirikur Hauksson, competed in the Eurovision Song Contest in 2006
(normally not associated with metal in any respect, though
Lordi
changed all that), reaching the semifinals.
