On the wonderfully titled
666 Goats Carry My Chariot
Bütcher plays unhinged, slightly blackened hyper-speed metal
with a healthy early 80's nod
(imagine early
Raven
played at double-speed),
and it's as over the top as that description and song titles like
"Iron Bitch" and "45 RPM Metal" suggest.
Most of the relatively short album is at the same speed-of-light
pace, but the 9-minute title track wanders into Viking metal,
Mercyful Fate
worship, and more -- it's still bonkers, but it shows the band has
more depth than some of their other tracks might indicate.
666 Goats is a pretty wild ride, but lots of fun.
