It was inevitable that something like this would come to be.
Ever since Igor Cavalera's departure from the mighty
in 2006 (his brother Max had left long before that),
the world wondered when and how the Cavaleras would
play together again -- really, it'd either be a new band like
this or both guys going back to Sepultura (and who knows
when or if that will ever happen).
So here we have Cavalera Conspiracy, which originally was
going to be called Inflikted until it was discovered that that
name was already in use, and so Inflikted
became the album
Is this a complete return to the Arise
era of Sepultura?
Is this just another version of
Does this sound like newer Sepultura?
While this lacks the tribalisms and down-tuned guitars
of, say, Roots
, a lot of what one would expect from the
Cavaleras is here -- part thrash, part death, and part modern
extreme metal, with Max's hate-filled vocals and Igor's fine
drumming leading the way.
Even if this isn't exactly what one might expect, it's familiar
enough to be a no-brainer recommendation for
bass (Empalot, Gojira)
