Dead Horse

Dead Horse was a quirky Texan band from the late eighties and early nineties, with their style loosely in the thrash camp but with an irreverant sense of humor as well as containing trace elements of influences such as punk and country (!). Though far from a direct soundalike, a somewhat similar band that operated around the same time was Agony Column, the two bands sharing a taste for the unusual and both with a clearly bizarre sense of humor. The band commanded a loyal cult following in the Southwest during their relatively short run, though mainstream popularity was never really in the cards for them. After a long layoff they came back together in 2011 and have an EP and LP under their belts since then, their punky thrash style still intact.
