Domkraft
2023's
Sonic Moons, the fourth full-length from the
Swedish band Domkraft,
sees the trio perfecting their
brand of slightly spacey, psychedelic stoner-inflected doom.
Bands in this genre are seldom known for real innovation and
Domkraft isn't the one to break that mold, and a lot of
Sonic Moons motors along at a somewhat similar pace, with the songs blending
together after awhile.
But their sound is massive, there's plenty of fuzzy, spacey riffing
and soloing, and the overall vibe is quite engaging, so this band
compares favorably with others in the stoner doom world.
