Eryn Non Dae.
Eryn Non Dae. is a band whose style is as murky and mysterious
as its name, one of those outfits who operate in their own world.
If one is forced to come up with a snappy description of their style
(based on 2018's
Abandon Of The Self),
it might be alternative, avant-garde post-metal, though none of those
three terms on their own paint an accurate picture of what's going
on here.
It's dark and grim and cacophonous,
with harsh vocals, discordant riffs,
and chaotic drumming, yet it's anything but one-dimensional and
never gets too oppressive or full of itself.
An engaging, immersive and compelling listen,
Abandon is one of the
more unique albums to surface in some time.
