Falconer
Falconer was formed by guitarist Stefan Weinerhall following
the breakup of his previous band,
Mithotyn .
While Mithotyn was a decent enough black metal band whose most distinctive
characteristics were various Viking/folklore influences,
Falconer went for a more traditional power metal sound, but left in
enough of the viking/folk influences to keep ahead of the pack.
They made a good run of it, with 9 full-length albums to their credit.
On the eve of the release of 2020's
From A Dying Ember , the band
announced their amicable breakup.
