Harlott

Australia arguably hasn't produced a major league thrash band since Mortal Sin, but Melbourne's Harlott may the country's next big retro thrash hope. Extinction, the band's third full-length and the first for a label following several independent releases, is riddled with riffs and vocals inspired from the best, with early Exodus and Slayer the closest soundalikes. Bolstered by modern production and musicianship values, Extinction is a blistering effort, proof positive that classic thrash still is as relevant and invigorating as it was when it first emerged back in the 80's.
