Headhunter

Headhunter is the band formed by bassist Schmier following his departure from Destruction in the late eighties. The album reviewed here is their third and last, 1994's Rebirth. Here, the band owes more to Germanic power than the raw thrash of Destruction, with Schmier's vocals sounding quite a bit like Peavey Wagner of Rage. The band was probably long since disbanded by the time Schmier reappeared in Destruction in 2000, but as of summer 2007 the original lineup had spent recording time to put out a new album in 2008. Additionally, the back catalog (all three albums) were re-released in September 2007 by AFM Records.
