Hobbs Angel Of Death

Essentially a solo project for revered pioneering Aussie metal extremist Peter Hobbs, Hobbs Angel Of Death was one of the earliest extreme metal projects to originate from Down Under. The band came out strong with its 1988 self-titled debut, strongly reminiscent of Hell Awaits-era Slayer, with heavy Satanic overtones, at least if song titles like "Lucifer's Domain", "Satan's Crusade", "Crucifixion", etc., were any indication. Dozens of members came and went over the years, but the band only sporadically recorded, with the '88 debut, the 1995 followup Inheritance, and 2016's Heaven Bled the only three full-length albums recorded. Surviving several breakups and reformations, the group was active as late as 2019, but Hobbs' passing in October officially put the band to rest.
