Impetigo

Revered by some as underground cult legends, Impetigo was one of the early pioneers in the realm of sick, raw, primitive death/gore metal, rising in the late eighties and culminating with two full-length albums and assorted other releases before disbanding in 1993, with their disinterest in rising above cult status, as well as dissatisfaction with the scene, cited as reasons for their breakup. Their discography is a hodgepodge of singles, split EPs, demos later reprinted, and reissues, with the version below admittedly a cursory attempt at the highlights (the website below does a much better job of this). As difficult as it is to take a band like this seriously (just look at the song titles for Ultimo Mondo Cannibale), they did have a cool sound that was original in its day.
