In Solitude
In Solitude was one of those 2000's bands with a clear
Mercyful Fate
influence
(though if it's Fate clones you're after,
Attic
and
Portrait
fit the bill nicely).
But give this band credit, as over the course of three albums they
never recorded the same album twice, the MF stylings clearest on the
self-titled debut, still somewhat prevalent on
The World. The Flesh. The Devil, and pretty much completely gone on
Sister, where the band veers into goth rock territory quite seemlessly.
Indeed, this new direction should have heralded a new beginning for the
band had everything else fallen into place, but that didn't happen,
as the band folded in April 2015.
