Lawnmower Deth

Very few metal bands take the total humor route (Scatterbrain was one that had some success doing so), but the charmingly named Lawnmower Deth did just that, born during the heyday of thrash and deciding that going for the joke angle would be the way to stardom. It never really happened, though they did have some success in their prime, with Ooh Crikey probably their best-known album. At their peak their brand of punky, crossover thrash wasn't bad at all, but ultimately didn't make too much of a lasting impression. By the early nineties they decided to shift to a more serious, punk-pop style on Billy, but that didn't work and the band was done by 1994. They reunited in 2008 and are set to release a new album in 2022.
