The Mighty Nimbus
Crushingly heavy doom with a slight southern sludge element is
the order of the day for this Minnesota band, featuring members
from
Alabama Thunderpussy
and the late
Sixty Watt Shaman.
The members themselves are said to be influenced by bands such as
The Obsessed,
St. Vitus,
and
Crowbar --
throw those three bands in a blender along with some modern doom
touches, and that's a reasonable description of
The Mighty Nimbus.
Apparently the debut album was recorded in a 24-hour period, but one
wouldn't know it, as the production, with a fat guitar sound, is
spot on.
Nicely done.
