Monument
The bio for this London-based band states that their goal is plain
and simple -- bring back "True British Heavy Metal".
And in this case, that means
Iron Maiden,
as 2018's
Hellhound is chock full of tracks that at least bear
a passing Maiden resemblance and at most are practically lifted from
Steve Harris' back catalog.
Twin leads, prominent bass lines, a Bruce Dickinson-inspired vocalist,
it's all here.
Not that that's a bad thing, these guys pull off the style with
conviction and energy, and as metal continues to branch off in endless
directions, it's nice to hear bands honoring metal's roots.
