Palms pairs
Deftones
vocalist Chino Moreno with three core members of the late great
Isis,
the band coming together simply because the Isis guys wished to continue
making music outside of the confines of their old band.
So
Palms (the 2013 self-titled debut) is not just
"Isis with the Deftones guy singing",
as this takes a far more alternative rock/metal direction, yet the
result isn't wholly unexpected and should resonate with fans of both
bands as well as more mainstream/alternative music fans.
