These pages welcome the former Soviet republic of Azerbaijan, in the
form of this one-man doom project with the amusing monicker of Pyraweed.
That name, plus the tongue-in-cheek album cover of Vol 3, suggests
perhaps a parody/joke band (which this isn't) and/or some sort of
doom metal (which this definitely is).
So it's ultra-slow, old-school
Black Sabbath
worship with somewhat hoarse vocals and no doubt at least some weed
references, though the song titles don't necessarily give that away
(well, there are a lot of "green" references).
It's a shade one-dimensional but still quite good for the doom genre,
all the more surprising given the rather remote origins of the band.
