Satan's Hallow
Fans of retro-grade, classic early 80's metal need look no further than
Satan's Hallow, a Chicago quintet who debuted quite admirably in 2017
with their self-titled effort
NWOBHM (and, in particular, early
Iron Maiden)
influences abound, with plenty of harmonized leads and vocals that remind
many of Doro Pesch back in the day.
Even the production eschews modern trends, opting for a warm,
analog-sounding mix that fits perfectly with the tunes.
Of course these guys and gal aren't about current metal trends, but
Satan's Hallow is one of the better traditionally-minded albums of
the year.
