Sacrament

Sacrament originated as a German power/thrash band, with a sound deeply rooted in mid-eighties Germanic thrash. Their debut, Agony, has a style at times similar to Iron Angel, and other times a bit like old Helloween, (except the vocals, which are not as melodic). After Agony the band recruited a new lead singer, and (according to the band themselves) have shifted their style away from thrash and more towards melodic power metal, as might be evidenced on their followup EP Withered Dreaming, released in 1999. Their third release, Aguante!, was released in 2006, and that turned out to be their last, as they disbanded a year later.

Note: no relation to Sacrament, the US Christian metal band.
