Scorngrain
The title of this Finnish band's debut album,
Cyberwarmachine,
sums up their musical style rather nicely, that being harsh metal
with so-called cyber influences (mostly spacey/techno keyboard
flourishes, and the odd sample or two), not quite in the true
techno-metal style of
The Kovenant
but not too far removed from that world.
The vocals are mostly the typical post-black,
semi-industrial harshness,
save for a very odd rap sequence on opener "24-7" that seems
quite out of place.
Not the most diverse of albums, but pretty well done, and perhaps
a precursor to better things down the line.
