Synaptik

These guys formed in 2012, though two core members were in the once-promising band Fifth Season who released an album back in 1997. On the 2014 album The Mechanisms Of Consequence, the focus is on upbeat, crunchy yet progressive thrash metal, somewhat along the lines of bands like Nevermore or Watchtower. The musicianship is tight and the guys certainly aren't afraid to throw in some flashy leads, though things never devolve too far into pointless complexity. This band could do well with some increased exposure, and their future seems bright at this point.
