Ultimatum

Hailing from the relatively un-metallic region of New Mexico, Ultimatum has been toiling in the Christian metal underground since their inception in 1992, with three albums to their credit thus far. Their style is rooted in 80's Bay Area thrash, with perhaps a nod toward bands such as Metal Church, and they managed to recruit Steve Souza of Exodus as guest vocalist! Well, no, that's not true, but rarely does one vocalist resemble another as strongly as this -- Scott Waters is an absolute dead ringer for Souza vocally. Puppet Of Destruction is an enjoyable album, if not groundbreaking. The band's hardline Christian approach may be offputting to some, as they do tend to force their beliefs pretty strongly. That notwithstanding, Ultimatum is a fine thrash band who who should appeal to old-school thrash fans.
