Wrathchild America
This band has gone through a host a names since its inception
in 1978, first going by Atlantis, then Tyrant, then finally hitting
their stride as Wrathchild, winning a major label contract in 1988.
But the British glam band Wrathchild threatened legal action, and so
the band debuted in 1989 as Wrathchild America.
They played a brand of accessible thrash that,
although released on a major label, never really got a lot of
attention, as by that time thrash acts that were flooding the scene.
After two albums, the band changed name to (or broke up and reformed as)
Souls At Zero,
and continued for a time in that incarnation before disbanding.
Guitarist Jay Abbene was later seen in
Crowbar
for awhile (but never recorded, and didn't stay long),
and drummer Shannon Larkin joined Ugly Kid Joe and later hooked
up with Amen.
