As I Lay Dying

Thrashy, crunchy metalcore was the order of the day from this San Diego band who rose to the upper levels of the genre. The band was riding high following 2012's Awakened release, but soon afterward vocalist Tim Lambesis' personal problems got in the way, with his incarceration and subsequent release putting a permanent dent in the band's popularity and stability. Two albums have been recorded since his return, but with everyone in the current lineup leaving Lambesis and the band before 2024's Through Storms Ahead was even released, the band may be finished.
