Deliverance
No relation to the Christian speed metal band
Deliverance,
this obscure and rather odd British band was
apparently on the other end of the religious spectrum,
an 80's dark metal band with at least some Satanic overtones
in their lyrics.
Musically, early
Mercyful Fate
comes to mind in the guitar department, though not quite
as technical ih the songwriting area.
It appears that all three members shared the vocals, and
one of them occasionally wails a la King Diamond, though
the dominant style is more forceful, thrash metal style.
This band seemed to be operating on their own plane, a bit
experimental in places, and might have developed into something
special, but unfortunately they never rose above cult status.
A bit strange, really.
