God Forbid

Over the course of eight albums and fourteen years, New Jersey's God Forbid played a potent brand of metalcore, with several nods to the Swedish melodic death metal sound as well as American thrash and death metal influences. They put out two releases on smaller labels before signing to Century Media and breaking out with 2001's Determination, with 2004's Gone Forever and 2005's IV: Constitution Of Treason pushing the boundaries of modern metalcore. The band's membership was largely unchanged from beginning to end, with only guitarist Dallas Coyle's departure in 2009 breaking up an all-original lineup. Shortly following the departure of Dallas' brother Doc Coyle in August 2013, the band announced its breakup.
