Kittie

Since making a splash with their 1999 debut Spit, Kittie has endured more than their fair share of ups and downs during a turbulent career. Inevitably their gender was, and in many cases still is, the focal point of the band, but referring to the band as "that all-female nu-metal band", even if technically accurate, has done them few favors over the years. The band did well during their first decade of existence but faltered afterward, halting recording after 2011's I've Faile You and suffering the death of bassist Trish Doan in 2017. The Landers sisters (always the core of the band) considered throwing in the towel several times, but finally found the strength to come back, and a re-energized Kittie released Fire in 2024.
