Epiphanic Truth

Epiphanic Truth materialized more or less out of thin air with their 2021 Dark Triad effort, so far the only recorded output of the band. The band is completely anonymous (save, oddly, a session drummer), and apparently have no intention of ever playing live, nor (presumably) revealing themselves. Anonymous bands do show up on the metal landscape now and again, with the reasons for anonymity often being contractual (as was the case with Mekong Delta way back when), though the reasons here are, like their names, unknown. As for the album, it's 3 songs totalling 43 minutes, one of them over 22 minutes, and there's a lot to unpack. It's an eclectic mix of extreme metal, post-metal, prog, and some dischordant jazziness as well. It's really quite good, and largely existing under most people's radar -- maybe that's just how the members want it.
