Vengeance From Hell was an inauspicious start for the thrash band
band known as Living Death, as the songwriting too closely
resembled a cheap early Metallica clone, and Thorsten Bergmann's
vocals were underdeveloped and at times somewhat annoying.
Eventually the band picked up steam and started producing some good
albums, the best being the
Protected From Reality, featuring some fine progressive thrash
It turned out the Mekong Delta similarity was no coincidence, as it
was later revealed that the two LD guitarists were also the
mystery guitarists in MD, back in the time where Mekong Delta's
members were all shrouded in mystery.
Amidst a few lineup changes along the way, Living Death continued
to release albums but never made a serious run at stardom.
Ex-vocalist Bergmann later formed a band called Sacred Chao,
releasing an EP in 1989.
