Of Rytes
Of Rytes was an obscure German thrash band, managing a single album
entitled
Without in 1991.
This was apparently a stepping stone for one-time
Exumer
vocalist Mem Von Stein, singing here and then departing Germany
for the US, where he would later form
Sun Descends.
In any case,
Without is best described as quirky, semi-progressive,
experimental thrash, the kind of non-toe-tapping material that takes
a few listens to appreciate.
Perhaps due to its non-immediacy, and perhaps due to not being on an
established label, the band never got its footing and were never heard
from again.
