Satanic Slaughter
A mainstay in the Swedish underground for years, Satanic
Slaughter were formed back in 1985 and has gone through
as many as 30 members over the years surrounding mainman
Ztephan Dark.
It wasn't until 1995 that a debut album was released,
and by that time numerous lineup changes had already ensued.
After a followup in 1997 the entire lineup changed again,
with four of the five members (all except Dark) leaving,
eventually to form
Witchery.
Dark recruited new members yet again and eventually
managed to record a third album in 2000.
Still more lineup changes have taken place since then, to
that shown below.
A fourth album,
Banished To The Underworld, was recorded
early in 2002, and has now been officially released.
The style of the band, at least as found on the debut, is
a death/black mixture, pretty decent though a bit rough
and underdeveloped in places.
With the sad passing of Dark in April 2006, the future of the
band is uncertain.
