Symphony X

Formed in 1994, this New Jersey band started turning heads with their Divine Wings Of Tragedy album, and the success of their 2000 release, V, solidified their status alongside Dream Theater and Fates Warning atop the mainstream progressive metal field. Though there are a lot of bands playing this style, Symphony X simply do it better, pouring unparalleled emotion, musicianship, and songwriting skills into their releases, with the result being on of the most professional-sounding bands on the map. Really a faultless progressive metal band.
