Arguably Poland's best gothic metal band, Artrosis
released a string of solid albums starting in 1997
highlighted by strong melodies, original songwriting, and
Medeah's enchanting vocals.
Essentially their career can be thought of in two halves,
the first half consisting of the albums released
before 2001's Fetish
and the second half consisting of Fetish and the
During the early half their style was rooted in gothic
metal, somewhat more upbeat than others in
the field, and startingly unique for gothic metal.
Starting with Fetish, though, the band took a turn
toward electronica, with songs both simpler and
more experimental, though Medeah's vocals were
still the highlight of the band.
They were silent for some time following 2002's
Melange, but a new lineup surrounding Medeah
emerged, with a new album Con Trust released in

versions exist in one form or another, entitled

(corresponding to their first three albums).
