Bernard Edward's Project Homicide

The self-titled album from Bernard Edwards' Project Homicide is a perplexing release for a number of reasons. First, the packaging, featuring a large sticker proclaiming "Kontains Klassic KISS Kover". While a Kiss song is covered here ("Cold Gin"), it's a hidden track, and while competently played, it's a bit out of place here, and the rest of this album would be of limited use to Kiss fans. Next, the band image, four normal looking guys and then Bernard himself, in Kiss-style makeup. Finally, the music, which is a bit hard to describe. The guitars are low-tuned and deathy sounding, Bernard's vocals are a semi-spoken, industrial-ish snarl, and the actual tunes are neither death nor industrial, but perhaps a bit of both, a bit of doom, and a bit of straightforward metal. Pretty much an oddity here, as it's not clear exactly what Edwards is trying to accomplish, but this album is a bit of an interesting listen. Apparently Edwards and/or the band has been around in one form or another for awhile now, but concrete information on them is hard to come by.
