Demon Pact
Demon Pact was just one of the hordes of British bands that sprung into
life during the NWOBHM heyday, and in reality they only managed to record
one single during their lifetime.
Years later an EP (apparently unauthorized) appeared, featuring the two
7" tracks with four other songs, and since then a proper compilation
of their early recordings has been released.
It's worth noting that the B-side to that single ("Raiders") remains
to this day an all-time BNR favorite.
Featuring a simplistic, yet meaty main riff, and snarly vocals, it
struck a familiar chord and ranks with the best the NWOBHM has ever
produced.
The rest of the EP is of a similar vein (think very early
Iron Maiden,
though without the focus or the budget) -- it's not the kind of album
that will change the world, but it represents the raw youthful vigor
of the NWOBHM times as well as any.
