Earthshaker

Named after the classic Y&T album, Earthshaker was one of several mid-80's Japanese metal bands with a similar style (meaning, at least a passing resemblance to Loudness). The debut album was one of the best Japanese metal albums of the era and put the band on the international map, but they steered toward a poppier sound on later albums and dropped from worldwide view, recording and touring in their home country where they have maintained a very popular career. After a successful run, they broke up in 1994, but returned five years later and are still going strong today. Remarkably, the original quartet from the first album are still together.
