Halloween
Halloween was, and still is, one of the classic underground metal
bands emerging in the mid-eighties,
with their 1984 debut,
Don't Metal With Evil, generating quite
a buzz in its day.
Stylistically,
Evil resembles very early Motley Crue (minus the
glam overtones), with flashy guitarwork and, predictably,
Halloween-based themes.
They were unable to capitalize on that buzz, though, as the
followup,
Victims Of The Night, was recorded in 1986 but shelved
for years later, and it wasn't until 1991 that a revamped lineup put
out
No One Gets Out, and another seven years after that until
Victims got its proper release.
Undaunted, they've continued to release material
and are still a mainstay on the Detroit metal scene.
